Kitchen Exile is now officially 1 year old today.

Hard to think that a year has gone by already. Time flies when you're having fun and I certainly have been enjoying myself..

The blog has had a few makeovers in the past year mostly me getting to grips with blogger formatting and learning how to set things up. I still have a way to go but its been fun learning new tecchy skills.

I hope that you've enjoyed the journey so far I'm certainly having a blast in the kitchen developing recipes and also eating out now and then.

You're probably wondering what my favourite recipes have been, so here's a few of mine from the past year.

Steak and Kidney pie - I was so proud of this recipe as in the many years I've been cooking I never got round to making a meat pie. It seemed to be popular with the readers too!

Slow cooked pork belly  - one of my favourite things to make for Sunday lunch and takes slow cooking to it's limits.

A taste of home and a staple recipe in my house is the traditional Irish soda bread and very easy to make too.

I don't have a real sweet tooth but I do like an easy to make cake and this coconut cake certainly hit the spot.

I do like to BBQ on my trusty Big Green Egg so I can't leave out my ribs, burgers and ketchup recipes.

And last but not least, there is of course my article on how to make your own bacon. 

There's plenty more to come in the next year, recipes, reviews and competitions.
