Happy new year!

So 2014 is almost at an end, I have had many culinary highs and lows and it's been good to share it with you all.

Hopefully you've enjoyed my musings thus far and I'm looking forward to sharing more in the upcoming year.

New years Eve for me is a quite time of year culinary wise, normally my other half and I will indulge in some foie gras, Tokaji and of course some fizz ( this year it's cremant from our trip to burgundy in October). This year is of course no different, but I have been asked why I also decided to marinade some ribs for dinner this evening. I won't be cooking them on the egg today, as it's not safe to go out here in the Netherlands with all the fireworks. It really does go crazy this time of year and our cats are already seeking solace under the bed.
There will also be a cocktail or two of the champagne kind and at a later date I will share some recipes with you of my favourites.

As with my xmas day message I'll keep this one short and sweet, and hope that you have an enjoyable celebration wherever you may be.

So for those of you from the old sod "Athbhiain faoi mhaise duit", those of you here in the Netherlands "Gelukkig Nieuw Jaar" and for those you you in Blighty and elsewhere "Happy new year"!

I'm off to look up some olliebollen recipes!
