Taste of Holland 2016 - Review

By February 14, 2016 ,

Last Weekend was the first edition of Taste of Holland, which was held at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. I took myself to the festival on a cold wintry a day and was pretty glad that it was indoors. The format is very similar to that of the Taste of Amsterdam which is held in the Amstelpark every summer.

For Valentines weekend it was pretty busy with lots of visitors enjoying the various attractions and sampling the various culinary delights.

There were quite a few food trucks and beer stalls selling their wares. I noticed a few local brewers, naturally I stopped by Van de Streek to sample some their wares.

There were various demo areas scattered about which was a nice touch.
If you wanted you could pick up a demo at the AEG theatre.

You could also pick up some BBQ tips at the Big Green Egg Demo from Julius Jaspers and Jeroen Hazebroek. Of course I stayed to watch them demo Long Haas steak and pork Belly and got to taste the end results, very tasty indeed.

Or you could try your hand at being a Masterchef contestant and meet some of the finalists.

All in all, a great vibe and a good way of showcasing national produce and a great day out.
